The short version

  • You must be at least 13. Mature and explicit content is for verified adults only.
  • Your stories stay yours. You give us only the licence we need to host and display them.
  • There is zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Sexual content involving minors results in an immediate permanent ban.
  • Anyone can report content or block a user in two taps. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours and offending content is removed.
  • You can delete your account, and your stories, from inside the app at any time.

This summary is for orientation only. The sections below are the agreement.

1. This is an agreement

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Ficverse (“Ficverse”, “we”, “us”) covering the Ficverse application for iPhone and iPad and the website at ficverseapp.com (together, the “Service”).

By downloading, opening or using the Service, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

These Terms are the end-user licence agreement (EULA) for the app. They replace, and take precedence over, Apple’s Standard EULA to the extent permitted; where these Terms are silent, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies. Section 19 contains the terms Apple requires.

2. Who may use Ficverse

  • You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law of your country sets a higher minimum age for using an online service of this kind.
  • If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms with you.
  • Mature and Explicit rated stories are available only to users who are 18 or over according to the date of birth on their account and who have deliberately enabled that content preference. Misstating your age to reach such content is a breach of these Terms and will cost you your account.
  • You may not use the Service if you have previously been banned, or if the law of your country prohibits you from doing so.

3. Your account

  • You sign in with Apple or Google. Keep control of that sign-in method — anyone who has it can act as you.
  • Everything that happens under your account is your responsibility. Tell us immediately at support@ficverseapp.com if you believe someone else is using it.
  • One human being, one account, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Do not create an account on behalf of someone else, and do not sell, rent or transfer your account.
  • Your username and profile must not impersonate another person, imply an affiliation you do not have, or consist of a slur or an obviously abusive term. We may reclaim a username that does.
  • Give us accurate information, including your date of birth, and keep it up to date.

4. Your licence to use the app

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Ficverse app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service, for your own non-commercial use.

You may not:

  • copy, modify, translate, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, or attempt to derive its source code, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
  • rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense or distribute the app;
  • scrape, crawl, bulk-download or systematically copy stories, chapters, images or user profiles, by any means, including for the purpose of training a machine-learning model;
  • access the Service through anything other than the official app or website, or use bots or automated tools against it;
  • circumvent the age gate, content filters, rate limits, access controls or content delivery protections;
  • interfere with the Service, probe it for vulnerabilities without our written permission, or place an unreasonable load on it;
  • upload malware, or use the Service to distribute spam or phishing.

Everything in the Service that is not user content — the software, the brand, the interface, the design system — belongs to Ficverse and is protected by intellectual property law. Nothing here grants you rights to it.

5. Your content

5.1 You keep your rights

You own what you write. Publishing on Ficverse does not transfer your copyright, and we do not claim ownership of your stories, chapters, comments or images (“Your Content”).

5.2 The licence you give us

To run the Service we need permission to handle Your Content. By submitting it, you grant Ficverse a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable (to our infrastructure providers only) licence to host, store, reproduce, cache, adapt for technical reasons such as splitting a long chapter into pages or converting it so it displays correctly on different devices, publicly display and distribute Your Content, solely in order to operate, secure and promote the Service.

“Promote” here means showing an excerpt, a cover or a title inside the app, on ficverseapp.com or on our own social accounts to highlight work published on Ficverse, always with attribution to your username. We will not license Your Content to third parties for their own commercial use, sell it, or use it to train machine-learning models.

This licence lasts as long as you keep the content on the Service. It ends when you delete the content or your account, except that: (a) copies may persist in backups and in content delivery network caches for a short period; (b) if you chose at account deletion to leave your stories published, the licence continues for those stories; and (c) copies other users lawfully made or quoted are not affected.

5.3 What you promise about your content

By publishing anything, you confirm that:

  • you wrote it, or you have all the rights needed to publish it here;
  • it does not break the content rules in section 7;
  • it does not infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other rights;
  • it is correctly rated and tagged under section 8.

You are solely responsible for Your Content. Ficverse does not endorse it and does not pre-screen it.

6. Fan works and third-party intellectual property

Ficverse exists for transformative fan works. Characters, settings and story worlds created by other people remain the property of their rights holders, and Ficverse is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any of them.

  • Write your own text. Do not upload someone else’s work — original or fan-made — as if it were yours. Plagiarism gets the work removed and, when repeated, the account banned.
  • Do not reproduce substantial portions of a published book, script, screenplay, song lyric or subtitle file. Fan fiction is your writing set in someone else’s world, not a copy of their words.
  • Do not use Ficverse to sell fan works based on someone else’s intellectual property.
  • Cover images must be your own, licensed to you, or free of restrictions that publishing would breach.
  • Rights holders who believe a work goes too far can use the process in section 10.

Series and film metadata, posters and cast information come from The Movie Database (TMDB) and belong to TMDB and the respective rights holders. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

7. Content rules — zero tolerance

Ficverse hosts writing that is often dark, adult or uncomfortable, and that is fine — that is what fiction is for. What follows is not about taste. It is a hard boundary, and we enforce it without exception.

Absolutely forbidden, no context accepted: any sexual or sexualised depiction of a minor, real or fictional, including text, images and links, and including characters presented as adults where the intent is clearly to depict a child. Content of this kind is removed on sight, the account is permanently banned, and where the law requires it we report it to the competent authorities. There is no warning, no appeal and no second account.

You must not publish, upload, link to or send:

  • Child sexual abuse material of any kind, as described above.
  • Real-person sexual content involving anyone who has not consented, or any sexual content about a real minor.
  • Harassment, bullying or threats — targeting a person or group, including brigading, pile-ons and unwanted contact after someone has told you to stop.
  • Hate speech — content that attacks or dehumanises people because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, disease, age, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation.
  • Doxxing — publishing someone’s private information: address, phone number, workplace, identity documents, private messages.
  • Incitement to violence or terrorism, praise of a violent extremist organisation, or instructions for making weapons.
  • Promotion of self-harm, suicide or eating disorders, including methods, encouragement or challenges. Writing about these subjects with proper warnings is allowed; encouraging them is not.
  • Illegal content, or content facilitating criminal activity, trafficking or the sale of regulated goods.
  • Impersonation of a real person, an organisation or Ficverse staff.
  • Spam, scams, phishing, malware, engagement farming or mass unsolicited promotion.
  • Plagiarism or any content that infringes someone else’s rights.
  • Sexually explicit imagery. Ficverse is a text platform: cover images, avatars and banners must not contain pornographic or graphically violent images, whatever the rating of the story they belong to.
  • Deliberate mis-rating — publishing adult content under a General or Teen rating to escape the age gate.

You must also not behave abusively towards other users or towards us: no evading a block or a ban, no mass-reporting someone in bad faith, no threatening or abusing moderators.

8. Ratings and content warnings

Every story must carry an accurate age rating: General, Teen, Mature or Explicit. Where relevant you must also apply the content warnings the app provides — violence, self-harm, gore, non-consent, abuse and major character death.

  • Rate for the work as published, not for what you intend to write later. If a story becomes more explicit, raise the rating before publishing that chapter.
  • Warnings exist so a reader can decide before the first paragraph. Withholding them to preserve a surprise is a breach of these Terms.
  • We may re-rate or re-tag a work, or restrict its visibility, if it is clearly mis-rated.

Readers: the age gate and warnings are tools, not a guarantee. Content on Ficverse is written by other users, and you may encounter something you dislike despite a correct rating. Use blocking and reporting, and stop reading a work that is not for you.

9. Moderation, reporting and enforcement

Ficverse operates a user-generated-content platform, and we take responsibility for what is published through it.

9.1 Tools you have

  • Report any story, chapter, comment or profile from inside the app, in two taps, choosing a reason: spam, harassment, sexual content involving a minor, violence, copyright, or other.
  • Block any account. Blocking removes that user from your feeds, your search results and your comment threads, in both directions.
  • Filter what you see with content preferences and blocked tags.
  • You can also write to support@ficverseapp.com if you cannot use the in-app tools.

9.2 What we commit to

  • We review every report and act on it within 24 hours.
  • Content that breaches these Terms is removed, and the account responsible is ejected where the breach warrants it.
  • Reports concerning the sexual exploitation of minors are treated as the highest priority and are actioned immediately.
  • We do not tell the reported user who reported them.

9.3 What we may do

Depending on severity and history, we may without prior notice:

  • remove or hide content, or restrict who can see it;
  • change an incorrect rating or tag;
  • limit an account’s ability to publish, comment or follow;
  • suspend an account temporarily;
  • terminate an account permanently and block the user from creating another;
  • preserve and disclose information to law enforcement where the law requires it or where someone is in danger.

If we act against your account we will tell you what rule was broken, unless telling you would put someone at risk or is prohibited by law. You can appeal once, within 30 days, by writing to support@ficverseapp.com. Appeals against a ban for content sexualising minors are not accepted.

10. Copyright complaints

If you believe material on Ficverse infringes your copyright, send a notice to legal@ficverseapp.com including:

  1. your name, address, telephone number and email address;
  2. identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed;
  3. a link to, or a precise description of, the material on Ficverse you want removed;
  4. a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law;
  5. a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that, under penalty of perjury, you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them;
  6. your physical or electronic signature.

We remove or disable material that is the subject of a valid notice, and we notify the user who posted it. If you believe your work was removed by mistake, you may send a counter-notice with the same detail plus a statement of why the removal was in error and your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts identified in section 18. Accounts that repeatedly infringe are terminated.

Please do not send copyright complaints to the support or privacy addresses — they will be delayed.

11. Third-party services

  • TMDB. Fandom pages use data from The Movie Database. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Your use of that data must respect TMDB’s own terms.
  • Apple and Google. Sign-in, distribution and push delivery depend on services provided by Apple and, if you choose it, Google. Their terms apply to their services.
  • Links in the app or on this site to other websites are provided for convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content.

12. Payments

Ficverse is currently free. There is no subscription, and no purchase is required to read or publish. If we later introduce paid features — for example paid chapters for authors — they will be sold through Apple’s in-app purchase system, the price and terms will be shown before you buy, and anything you published as free will remain free. Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple under Apple’s own policies.

13. Availability and changes to the Service

We may add, change or remove features, and we may suspend the Service for maintenance. We aim to keep interruptions short and to warn you about planned ones, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your published work.

14. Suspension, termination and deletion

  • You may stop using Ficverse at any time and delete your account from Profile → Settings → Delete account, choosing whether your stories are deleted with it or left published without an author. Comments are anonymised rather than deleted, so other people’s reply threads remain readable.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if your account is used unlawfully, or if we are required to by law. For serious breaches — above all section 7 — termination is immediate and permanent.
  • Sections that by their nature should survive termination do so, including sections 5.2 (to the extent stated), 6, 15, 16, 17 and 18.

15. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and any warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free or that content will always be accurate or preserved.

Content on Ficverse is written by users. We do not endorse it, verify it or take responsibility for it. Nothing on Ficverse is professional, medical, legal or psychological advice. If you are in distress, please contact a local emergency service or crisis line.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived by agreement.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ficverse and its personnel will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for loss of profits, data, goodwill or content, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service — whether based on contract, tort, statute or any other theory, and even if we were told such damages were possible.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) fifty euros (€50).

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

17. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ficverse and its personnel from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) brought by a third party and arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or of anyone’s rights.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts and enforcement offices of Türkiye have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another jurisdiction whose law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts and to the protection of mandatory local consumer law, that right is unaffected by this section.

Before starting formal proceedings, please write to legal@ficverseapp.com. Most disputes can be settled quickly that way.

19. Terms required by Apple

The following applies to the app obtained through the Apple App Store, and Apple requires it to be stated:

  • These Terms are between you and Ficverse only, not with Apple. Ficverse, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
  • Your licence to use the app is limited to a non-transferable licence to use it on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service, except that it may be accessed by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
  • Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for the app.
  • If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are Ficverse’s responsibility.
  • Ficverse, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar legislation.
  • If a third party claims the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, Ficverse, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
  • You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right (and are deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you.
  • Contact details for questions, complaints or claims about the app are in section 21.

20. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service develops or the law changes. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. For material changes we will give notice in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Ficverse after that means you accept the new Terms; if you do not, delete your account.
